Christiane Frischmuth works around the world as an organization, leadership development, and learning consultant. Born in Germany and based in Washington, DC, she is skilled in global results-based facilitation, multi-stakeholder and partnership processes, mergers, new leader on-boarding, transitions, organizational development, change management, organizational learning and knowledge management, facilitation, team building, process consultation, workshop and conference design, networking, training, Rapid Results Approaches/Work Out Processes, the Logframe/Results Framework (ZOPP) methodology, personal growth work and large systems methodologies.
The context of Christiane’s work often involves decentralized planning, participatory extension with rural communities, traditional leaders, NGOs and government agencies, decentralization/devolution, natural resources management and national park planning, poverty alleviation, development cooperation, rural development, community development, gender, coalition-building, and support of fragile states.
After living and working in multiple African countries while working with GTZ GmbH - German Technical Cooperation, her own clients since 2000 with Global Frischmuth Consulting have included the Innovation Lab (IADB), Microsoft, USAID, the Washington, DC Housing Authority, IMFFA, the Baltimore City Department of Social Services, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Liberty Strategies, the Nature Conservancy, Conservation International, the Water Sector Program (Gates Foundation), Program on Sanitation and Hygiene, the World Bank Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness Department, World Bank (WB) regional and sectoral offices, sectoral networks, IFC, and multiple governments and NGOs in Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Africa.
Christiane holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Political Science, International Relations and Anthropology, and is an adjunct faculty with the Gestalt International Study Center. An ICF Professional Certified Coach, she also combines her passion for organizational work with a deep respect for nature, leading wilderness workshops in Vision Fast Work, Rites of Passage and Nature Coaching. She hike, swims and bikes, writes poetry, and loves nature.
